Jamaika on reipas ja kipakka ori. Se on oppinut kuuliaiseksi ja viihtyy täydellisen hyvin missä tahansa missä sillä on seuraa. Ulkonäkönsä puolesta
kovin paljon emäänsä tullut ori on kuuliainen ja fiksu hevonen, mutta siltä löytyy myös omaa luonnetta ripaus liian paljon. Jamaikalla on vahvat
orinvaistot, eikä se juurikaan muita oreja siedä, vaan on aina vokottelemassa tammoja ja harmistuu toden teolla jos se pakotetaan jättämään flirttailu
tuonnemmaksi. Helposti Jamaikan tosin saa leppymään, ei siihen tarvita kuin yhdellä porkkanalla lahjominen ja ori on heti polvillaan palvomassa sinua
jumalanaan.
Jamaika rakastaa esiintymistä ja huomiota, ja siitä on hillittömän hauskaa kun suuret ihmisjoukot kiinnittävät huomiotaan vain ja ainoastaan siihen.
Näinpä fiksu oripoika keksi opetella aukaisemaan solmuja. Toisinaan Jamaikan saatetaan nähdä laukkaavan innoissaan ympäri tallipihaa orin
houdininkyvyistä tietämättömän tallipojan jäljiltä. Jamaika ei kuitenkaan jostain syystä ole koskaan karannut kokonaan vaikka siihen olisikin ollut
mahdollisuus, kai se on vannoutunut kotikissa. Ori tanssii kyllä mielellään ympäri pihaa raivostuneiden ihmisten edellä, mutta sitä kauemmas se ei
tohdi lähtä. Onhan Jamaika toisaalta oppinut tulemaan luokse vihellyksestä, mutta jostain syystä se ei koskaan tottele kutsua jos viheltäjä on joku
jota Jamaika ei tunne hyvin. Sen täydellinen luottamus on muutenkin vähän hankala saavuttaa, vaikka pussillinen porkkanoita saattaa edistää asioita
huomattavasti.
